Staking from the approved plans
We use the approved site and grading plans to stake the work. Have those documents available for the visit so we are working from the approved layout, not an informal sketch.
We use digital levels to set and check grade. Alvin’s humid Gulf Coast conditions mean we also need to account for wet ground and drainage conditions at the time of the visit.
Grade information for your crew
We provide a cut-and-fill sheet so the crew knows the grade it needs to build to. Keep that sheet available to the crew doing the grading. It gives them the grade information to use alongside the marks on the ground.

Re-staking as work progresses
We re-stake as construction phases progress or marks get disturbed. If your crew loses a reference mark, arrange for us to reset it before they use that location for further work. Coordinate re-staking with the next phase rather than assuming the original marks will remain usable throughout construction.
Utility and curb-line staking prices
Utility or curb-line staking costs $400 to $1,200 per run. That range is for each run, not a flat price for staking an entire project. When discussing the work with us, identify the utility or curb-line runs you need staked.
